garamps's Blog

Last Post 410 days, 1 hour Ago

I would like to begin this blog with an apology to the other bloggers whose topics I strayed from while trading jabs with RDJVZ. I have stated that I am relatively new to the internet and very new to blog sites and am learning a thing or two about posting courtesy. I confess that I now look forward to RDs' posts because there is going to be a laugh in there somewhere; whether he intends to be laughed at or not!!!

After I had submitted my very first post I was amused to see your response (RDJVZ) , an insulting and confused rant, and decided to respond in kind to your vitriolic blather. I find it hilarious to see you blowing your top so easily and otherwise slinging playground logic at serious topics with the vulgarity of an insane clown. There are times when you come close to making seriously good points but then you go and turn them into outhouse comedy with your sophomoric deliveries.

You posted that I do not have much to say other than to make comments and asides towards you. Well, you are partly correct, RD, I have not contributed much that is worth discussion for at least 2 reasons; (1) there are some posters that put it out there so well that there is no need for me to follow thru.  (2) I have explained to you that my career was one of isolation and, as a result, I am woefully uninformed on many topics.   I am currently going thru the retirement process and will be staying home, in country, and will now have time to catch up on much of what I have missed while out at Sea for the last 43 years.

Meanwhile, until I have something intelligent to say I will stick to watching you make a fool of yourself and, perhaps, be a little foolish along with you. You see, RDJVZ, I do not take myself as seriously as you and I refuse to let your asinine remarks to me get under my skin. I can laugh at myself, it helps me to relax; you should try it.

This is the first blog that I have entered and because of the non news, non political content, I felt that the entertainment category was the right place for this. I hope that you are flatered, RDJVZ, that you have made the headlines.

Garamps,

You blog beautifully. It seems as if you have been doing this for ages!
People come and go but I hope you stick around. Whatever you post is interesting reading.
As for RD, I can count on 1 finger where I have been on the same page with him but that's ok. People with different ideas give us food for thought.
You have been at sea for 43 years? What in the world were you doing? Were you Navy? On a Merchant Vessel? Give me the scoop!

Don't wait til you have something intelligent to say, RD doesn't.

I agree with splat (no new nickname) and dhw comments. You did very well. Don't let anyone or anything keep you from blogging. We don't. And it was great fun reading this one.

Garamps,

I just read your bio. Merchant mariner, huh? My friend's hubby is one too. I can't imagine being away from my family for as long as you guys have to be. Welcome back to solid ground. I'm sure it's taken some getting used to.

Hi y'all.

splat...we Merchant Seaman call being on land 'On the beach', always good to be home with family. It is an unscheduled transition for me, I wanted to sail until my sea legs gave out on me but an injury (recreational, not work related) is forcing me to retire at 61. I am still a little anxious about being 'on the beach' for good but I will adapt quickly. Thanks for asking and for your kind remarks.

dhw1949 and GrnFlamingos as well, thank you.

I read a post from RDJVZ today, claims he is done fueding with his clone. Although he has not responded to this 'Headline' I hope that he will temper his future posts without wishing folks (me) dead and leave the profanity to HBO comedians.

Welcome back to the beach. I know I like being on the beach. I don't know that I could handle being on a ship for more than 2 weeks.

garamps--where did you find something from RD, the most recent I could run across was from last week.
Really surprising that he has refrained from chiming in on this one.....
Welcome to Arizona's beach front property, by the time California falls into the ocean your legs will have quit wobbling.

dhw1949...last post from RD that I have read was posted in the 'Political blogs' in the one posted by 'block' on 4/4/08 entitled 'Joe Arpaio'. RDs' post is dated from yesterday.
The way I see it RD was being 'Beat Down' so bad by his clone that it really, really got to him. He finally meet his match in the form of his "Fraud", little 'Mini Me' RDJVZ.

Thanks for the reply, garamps, I don't think we've heard the last from him.
OK, I just read a lot of the Joe Arpaio blog, seems like I need to start reading everything, or at least keep better count of the responses.

We can't be ocean front property just yet. We have some relatives out in Caly Fornia as the Gov says. Man is this gonna be a change for you from coastal waters. Talk about dry dock!

garamps did you stop getting that feeling of sea motion yet?? Welcome to the beach :)) I remember once going onto a Local Navy Ship in the UK for a tour and being taken out there on a smaller boat to board the ship, the swell was huge and we must have been dropping 20 feet with the waves, I have never felt so sea sick in my life!! Do you ever really get used to not feeling seasick??

Grn & BC..nice to hear from y'all.

I Live along the Gulf Coast, in Alabama; I hope this news does not mean that I have to leave the Phoenix FOX blogsite, hee, hee! I enjoy learning about the issues there in Az.

I ended up here by accident when I typed in Fox News 10, expecting to find Fox News 10 in Mobile, Alabama. I got caught up reading about the illegal situation and Sherriff Arpaio who, by the way, is very popular down here and in other southern towns. I decided to stay and learn more about the issue as we are in the beginning of a major influx of illegals here and we are just finding out how changes are becoming less subtle and more frequent. Billboards in Spanish began going up last year, Mexican businesses are cropping up aroud town and my Grandchildren have experienced overcrowding in the classrooms this year. Hospital E/Rs are full much of the time and our county jail has interpreters on staff now...it's coming!

The draws for the Mexicans are agriculture, the seafood industry and the Beachfront luxury Resort boom (Along the Redneck Riviera) going on, as well as industrial complexes relocating down south from up north.

I have learned much from the citizens of Az and I expect that it will not be much longer before the rest of the southern and eastern states begin to feel the pressure that is cooking in the western states. After Katrina, when the Af/Am community fled to Texas and other points west the Mexicans flooded into New Orleans to begin rebuilding the City and it is now known on the streets as Nuevo Orleans. Now that the city is begining to come b

Cont.

Now that the city of New Orleans is beginning to come back, the Blacks that left and sat it out in their comfy subsidized apartments with foodstamps etc. in Texas and elsewhere while the work got done by out of town contractors and illegals, to reclaim their "Chocolate City" as the Mayor Ray Nagin likes to call New Orleans. Many here feel it is a matter of time, maybe next summer, before all hell breaks lose between the Blacks and the illegals. It should be pretty ugly if it somehow is allowed to happen.

In the meantime, I am going to read and learn from you guys in Phoenix, who are already on the front lines with this issue. There are some seriously smart folks that appear on the edge of the ledge in Phoenix. I hope that we can get some help from the courts before we are forced to take it upon ourselves to show them the door.

garamps--sounds like it's time to start bitching to your elected officials about what is happening here or else you'll end up with wimps in office like our mayor and governor.
I wonder if Arpaio has a brother named Bubba in Alabama? That's what you'll need.
Good luck, enjoy Saturday everyday!!

Are you familiar with E-Verify? Employer Sanctions? When January came around there were a number of "presumed" illegals who left for the hills. Unfortunately not enough of them. You might check with Arpaio and see if he has a twin who wouldn't mind relocating. How are your elected officials? I'm hoping some of ours do not get elected again. McCain is on that list too. I sure hope you have better luck than we are. You're not going to leave our "city" are you? We have lots of people from other states that give interesting perspectives.

splat..yes. I have been to AZ numerous times and seen much of your beautiful state. One of the most memorable times was in 1983 when my daughters and I skiied up at the San Francisco Peaks, Flagstaff area, during the school break for Thanksgiving; we took them from school for a few extra days, a special treat for them.

My Dad, 83 yrs., is going out west for his first time ever beginning in July. He and my beautiful step Mom are flying to Phoenix and from there are traveling with a rental car throughout a huge portion of the western states. He is an OK driver and very independent so they should be fine as long as he sticks to the main roads. They will terminate their odyssey in August in Jackson Hole, Wyoming and fly home from there.

I have been fortunate to have visited all 50 states, what a country!!!
