the representatives in d.c need to get a understanding of american ppl. especailly here in alabama. us males dont have rights and the laws need to be change to protect us males.
IF THIS IS NOT YOUR CUP OF TEA, DELETE IT, IF IT IS COMPLY!
There's a storm abrewin'. What
happens when good, responsible people keep quiet? Washington has forgotten
they work for us. We don't work for them. Throwing good money after
bad is NOT the answer. I am sick of the midnight, closed door sessions to
come up with a plan. I am sick of Congress raking CEO's over the coals
while they, themselves, have defaulted on their taxes. I am sick of the
bailed out companies having lavish vacations and retreats on my dollar. I
am sick of being told it is MY responsibility to rescue people that, knowingly,
bought more house than they could afford. I am sick of being made to feel
it is my patriotic duty to pay MORE taxes. I, like all of you, am a
responsible citizen. I pay my taxes. I live on a budget and I don't
ask someone else to carry the burden for poor decisions I may make. I
have emailed my congressmen and senators asking them to NOT vote for the
stimulus package as it was written without reading it first. No one
listened. They voted for it, pork and all.
O.K. folks, here it is. You may
think you are just one voice and what you think won't make a difference..
Well, yes it will and YES, WE CAN!! If you are disgusted and angry
with the way Washington
is handling our taxes. If you are fearful of the fallout from the
wreckless spending of BILLIONS to bailout and "stimulate"
without accountability and responsibility then we need to become ONE, LOUD
VOICE THAT CAN BE HEARD FROM EVERY CITY, TOWN, SUBURB AND HOME IN
AMERICA. There is a growing protest to demand that Congress, the
President and his cabinet LISTEN to us, the American Citizens. What is
being done in Washington
is NOT the way to handle the economic free fall.
So, here's the plan. On
April 1, 2009, all Ameicans are asked to send a TEABAG to Washinton , D.C.
You do not have to enclose a note or any other information unless you so
desire. Just a TEABAG. Many cities are organizing protests.
If you simply search, "New American Tea Party", several sites will
come up. If you aren't the 'protester' type, simply make your one voice
heard with a TEABAG. Your one voice will become a roar when joined with
millions of others that feel the same way. Yes, something needs to be
done but the lack of confidence as shown by the steady decline in the stock
market speaks volumes.
This was not my idea. I visited the sites of the 'New American Tea Pary'
and an online survey showed over 90% of thousands said they
would send the teabag on April 1. Why, April 1?? We want them to
reach Washington
by April 15. Will you do it? I
will. Send it to; 1600 Pennsylvania Ave.
Washington
, D.C. 20500
..
Forward this to everyone in your
address book. Visit the website below for more information about the 'New
American Tea Party'. I would encourage everyone to go ahead and get the
envelope ready to mail, then just drop it in the mail April 1. Can't
guarantee what the postage will be by then, it is going up as we speak, but
have your envelope ready. What will this cost you? A little time
and a 42 or 44 cent stamp.
What could you receive in
benefits? Maybe, just maybe, our elected officials will start to listen
to the people. Take out the Pork. Tell us how the money is being
spent. We want TRANSPARENCY AND ACCOUNTABILITY. Remember, the money
will be spent over the next 4-5 years. It is not too late.
Where is this money coming from? Is the U.S. borrowing money from another country to stimulate our own economy and if so, who do we have to repay? What did we promise in return for this money?
Having been born in New Orleans, Louisiana and subsequently moving back to Mobile, Alabama on numerous occasions I consider myself to be akin to both origins. Often-time I wonder why Mobile must attempt to emulate such larger cities as my home town (New Orleans) and New York. By having attempted to recapture the origin of Mardis Gras back to Mobile after many of our ancestors moved to New Orleans, we have failed to make Mobile the origin and center of such celebration. However much we try we must admit that it is in New Orleans that the center of Mardis Gras is ...even though it might not have originated there as it did with Mobile drunks marching and staggering down a few streets (probably including Government Boulevard at that time) striking trash cans with sticks. By creating the Moon Pie concept Mobile, once again, is emulating another greater and larger city: New York. New Orleans does not appear to be too concerned with emulating New York City as does Mobile with its "Pie In The Sky". Mobile strikes me as a medium sized city that wants to emulate other larger, greater sized, cities so as to become great without having established its own greatness, independently. Why, therefore, I ask, should Mobile, Alabama emulate other great cities such as the very city that it created by its own ancestors moving and settling New Orleans? Many of those very ancestors moved back and forth from Mobile to New Orleans for decades. Why should Mobile be so ashamed for not being as great a city as its very own created sister city? This, to me, is akin to a mother being ashamed of her son or daughter. I think that the answer is that Mobile has yet to learn how to be great on its own. I contend that Mobile, Alabama should re-direct its priorities towards finding its own "real" greatness by finding the lost ruins of Mabila, Alabama and making this the greatest event of the twenty-first century. With Greatest Regards, A New Orleans' born Citizen of Mobile Alabama and proud of being from both great cities ...the origin of New Orleans came from the citizens of Mobile having moved to the banks of the Crescent City. Don't be ashame of giving birth to your great city ...be proud of it! Once You do you will need no false prides such as "a pie in the sky".
THE BIG 3 BAILOUT
I have an answer for the big three bailout, I am sure that all parties involved will be happy with; most importantly the tax payers. I recommend that the US Government use $30 billion from the $700 billion pot of money used for the AIG bailout. This money should not be given to the companies through the back door but put it in on the front end by issuing Big Three Automobile coupons totaling $30 billion to randomly selected families who earn less than $150,000 per year. The coupon should cover tax/ tag/ title and insurance 60months. This will give the Auto industry the boost that they need while at the same time helping other hard working Americans and maybe even cleaning up the environment by getting some older smoking automobiles off the road too.
For your consideration, ACR
Boycott Greedy Automakers - but wait, we already are!
That's right! And notice I didn't say boycott US auto workers. There are so many things that are screwed up about what Joe is doing. He's pointing the finger in the wrong direction and hurting Alabamians in the process. Yeah, it makes perfect sense to attack another state and other US autoworkers just because you, personally, do not agree with a Senator (One Person!)- That was sarcasm Joe. Wake up Joe!
The reason the big three are failing is because they make a less reliable, less fuel efficient and less attractive product. Part of what makes this country great is that it is a free market and if you are unable to keep your business going because people choose a different manufacturer and you don't change your design with the times....then you should go out of business, not expect a government bailout.
Joe’s website states…“To those hard working people in Alabama, we apologize for the boycott and the loss of income and future employment from this boycott but please understand that it is within your power to elect a representative who has America’s best interest in mind. “
Well Joe, this is what I say ....To those hard working people in Detroit, we apologize for the boycott of your manufacturer’s vehicles and the loss of income and future employment from this boycott but please understand that it is within your manufacturer’s power to design a vehicle that has America’s best interest in mind.
Ford has a 65mpg car in Europe but chose not to build that car in the US because it would have to spend money on a new motor plant. While I'm on Ford, my first new truck was a 2004 F-150 (5.4 v8, nothing special or sport about it) that I loved, at first. It cost me $120 for spark plugs after 35,000 miles, and the front brake rotors cost me $600. All because it was a new, revised, model year. Thanks to getting screwed for having to buy Ford only parts for my truck, I got rid of it at 60K miles and bought a Nissan. There is a reason that Toyota, and Nissan are not going bankrupt!
Also, Joe, you are pointing the finger in the wrong direction in another way. We make our industries conform to OSHA and minimum wage standards, why not make other countries do the same and let's see how long they can be competitive! Let's also do away with the tax breaks the overseas companies are given and lighten the tax burden on US products being shipped overseas. Heck if you look at how a company gets taxed and the deterioration of the US work ethic, no wonder they go overseas. The workforce out of high school isn’t getting any better and stop blaming the Teachers, IT”S THE PARENTS AND KIDS. Don’t call me unpatriotic, I’m just wish the Government and its citizens would stop pointing the finger and get brutally honest.
Don’t get me wrong, I hate it for everyone that has or will lose their job because of a company going bankrupt, my heart really goes out to them. But unless your company is make changes to produce a product that someone wants to buy, how do you expect to stay in business? The big three companies have known for decades that we need more fuel efficient vehicles in the US and they have turned their backs to its consumers until it is too late. We should return the favor.
I am so angry that this blog will probably sound more like a heated rambling than a well written diatribe so bare with me....
I don't want to know who you voted for. However if you ask me I'll proudly tell you, and I'm quite sure it would come as no surprise anyhow. My stepmom told me "We knew you were a Republican by the time you were 11, we never had to worry about you." Those of you who know me can attest to this.
I don't know what coverage you watched of the election, but I watched Fox News, that's the news station I always watch. I've never been fond of Shepard Smith, but as with most people I disagree with, I still respected him. After last night, I hold no more respect for Shepard Smith. He's a Southern Democrat to the letter and that is fine. But last night he used his Mississippi home as a credential to judge the South as a whole. His comments were judgmental and drew the image of the Southern States simmering in their own juices over an "African-American" president. All the attention was focused around America's first black president. And then Smith said the unthinkable...."All of you Conservatives who are sitting there angry, get over yourselves, please!" WHAT?
I voted for McCain. I did not vote for Obama. He scares me. I did not vote for him for a multitude of reasons and not because he SAYS he's black (p.s. in case you haven't heard, he's not black, at best he's Mulatto, now his wife on the other hand is black) So, why does he scare me? His socialist views for the economy, his plans for healthcare, his anti-federalist approach to law-making, his lack of experience, his views on Social Security and immigration, his views on Church and State, his stand on the war in Iraq, the numerous lies and befuddlement of the truth, his Muslim heritage, his voting record, and most of all his stance on abortion, and his absurdly self-righteous defense of Roe vs. Wade. Are those enough reasons? I'm an intelligent woman who has been fortunate enough to EARN a higher education. I'm pretty opinionated too, so if I don't like you, I can find many more pertinent reasons than your race. BUT, apparently if I don't like Obama, I'm a racist. Also apparently I'm too Southern (not hardly), too Conservative (nah), too white (hey I'm a pretty good butt shaker), or maybe just plain too Amanda (that's it). In any case GETTING OVER MYSELF is not an option. It's a sad day to be a white Republican, not because we are all racist bigots but because if we didn't vote for Obama, we suddenly are now.
And by the way, Ralph Nader is my new hero. At least someone is not afraid to anger the new mainstream!!
FOOD FOR THOUGHT:
I'm sure Obama's WHITE grandmother would be very proud. She raised an intelligent man and taught him to stand up for what he believes, whether I agree with him or not, you got to admit, the man has gusto. Oh, wait a minute what was that word I typed in all caps?? WHITE. You mean he's not black??? Really??
